About Us

Taste Jamaica was born in 2018 from a simple passion: to bring the true, authentic flavours of Jamaica to Geelong and across Australia.

Our journey began with Grace — the most loved and trusted brand in Jamaica. We set out to share those iconic flavours with our community, importing products and introducing people to the real taste of the island. Just as our brand was gaining momentum, COVID hit. Events stopped, shops closed, and suddenly we had plenty of product — but nowhere to sell it.

Instead of giving up, we pivoted.

We opened a small takeaway spot on Pakington Street, Geelong West, serving authentic Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork straight from the grill. The response was overwhelming. As restrictions eased, that humble takeaway grew into a full restaurant and rooftop bar, complete with music, vibes, and an atmosphere that felt like stepping into Jamaica itself.

But as the world opened back up, we realised something important — our true passion was always events and festivals. There’s nothing like cooking over open flames, serving bold street food, and connecting with people through flavour, culture, and energy. That’s where Taste Jamaica feels most at home.

To take things to the next level, we began creating our own branded range of Jerk Seasonings, marinades, and hot sauces — made to capture the authentic taste of Jamaican street food, so you can experience it anywhere. This marked the next chapter of our journey: growing our own brand, Taste Jamaica.

Today, Taste Jamaica is about more than food. It’s about culture, community, and authenticity. Whether you’re tasting our sauces at home, grabbing a plate at a festival, or discovering Jamaican flavours for the first time — we’re here to bring the island to you.
